Adult Spiritual Growth
The Ministry of Adult Spiritual Growth (ASG) designs and supports learning experiences for adults to grow spiritually and deepen our lives as disciples of Jesus. We focus on both the inner journey and the outer journey. We strengthen the inner journey by learning to practice prayer, to study the Bible, and to develop spiritual disciplines. We strengthen the outer journey by learning to share the Good News, building the Beloved Community, and working toward a just and compassionate world. Our commitment to equity and justice pervades all our offerings and practices especially for people who face discrimination because of race or other personal attributes.
Everyone is welcome to join as we learn to become a Christian community and affirm all human beings as God’s children.
Spiritual growth experiences for adults…
Opportunities to grow together as followers of Jesus include Bible study, experiential activities, discussion of books, review of other materials, and contemplative and active practice of spiritual disciplines.
Members of Forest Hill Church are encouraged to share their gifts and passions by facilitating spiritual growth experiences for the greater congregation.
Ways to Connect
The capacity for lifelong growth and learning is a distinct characteristic of all human beings. This natural curiosity especially applies to Christian believers, for whom growth in faith and in community is an integral part of discipleship and of the work of the Spirit (I Cor. 3).
