Building a Beloved Community
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. envisioned a united world – a “beloved community” where humanity, justice, and love replace poverty, inequity, and hate. FHC believes that the life of Jesus modeled how we are to live in relationship with others. As Jesus taught, we are to love others as he loved us. The beloved community imagined by Martin Luther King Jr. is grounded in the teachings of Jesus.
Forest Hill Church endeavors to create a Beloved Community.
You are welcome here.
We embrace diversity to create an inclusive church.
We embrace diversity, affirm the dignity of LGBTQIA+ persons, and prioritize efforts to create a truly inclusive church, working to eliminate implicit or unconscious bias and discrimination of any kind. At FHC we prioritize equity so that everyone has the opportunity to participate fully in all aspects of our church life. Each journey of faith is personal and distinct. At FHC you are welcome to question, express doubt, and look for insight and comfort as part of your search. If what this church community offers appeals to you, know that you are welcome here.
Family, Youth, and Children’s Ministry
Family, Youth and Children’s Ministry offers young people and their families a safe, affirming and inclusive space to grow in relationship to God and one another. We are committed to racial equity as we seek to nurture and celebrate the faith journeys of children, youth and families through creative, and engaging programming that provides opportunities to love and care for others.
Ministry team members meet monthly to support the Director of Family, Youth and Children in planning and evaluating programming. They assist as needed with projects and special events throughout the year. For information, contact Rachel Martinez-Finn (2nd year Elder).
Forest Hill Church is pleased to introduce you to our loving and supportive staff.
Volunteers elected by the congregation serve on various ministries and program committees of the church.
Each congregation is governed by a Session which is made up of elders elected by the congregation and all pastors on the staff.
