During the listening sessions prior to Pastor Lentz’s departure, someone hoped that we might be able to return to volunteering at Boulevard School on Lee Road, close to the church. There are a number of things we can do and I’m listing them here for your consideration. If you have any questions, please contact Cynthia Lehman to learn more. Boulevard students and families have many more needs than they did in the past so whatever you can do will be helpful and much appreciated. Thanks for your interest.
- Tutoring students (For information, go to: https://www.reachingheights.org/many-villages)
- Monthly food distribution (Contact Caryl Yoo at c_yoo@chuh.org)
- Group projects—If we organize a group and give them a time when we want to volunteer, we can be assigned to a project (this can be a once and done).
- Heights Family Resource Center: provides both financial and material resources to families in need as determined by the School Social Workers. We could, for example, do various collections for the Resource Center, e.g. diapers, gift cards, baby formula, shampoo, etc. This is a newer initiative and might, in the future, need volunteers to help staff the center at a particular time.
