On Sunday, April 26th, the Justice Ministry hosted its annual Community Grantee Luncheon. Organizations who were nominated by FHC members and received community grants in 2025, were invited to come together in food and fellowship and share with interested FHC members about their organization’s work. This year, 14 of the 15 grantee organizations participated and were represented by 22 of their staff and volunteers. With about 20 FHC congregation members, we gathered around a delicious meal and inspiring conversation to learn more about these committed organizations, their outreach, and what motivates them to support and walk with our surrounding community. It was a beautiful time of mutual learning, with everybody departing with more knowledge about what is happening in our community and how we can be part of a movement for change.

Justice Ministry’s 2026 Community Grant cycle is now upon us and the nomination form is active. Please use the link for the nomination form if you, as an FHC member, would like to nominate an organization that is making a difference and working toward our vision of beloved community. The deadline to submit your nomination form is June 15th and decisions will be made by early July.

Thank you, FHC, for making this support through community grants possible. This outreach is something our congregation directly supports, as the funds and the amount we are able to give are contingent on our giving and the operating budget. So please remember that YOU are part of this mission accompaniment and we thank you!

Please also view this video of gratitude from another grantee and friend, Christy Lafferty in Nicaragua, where she is serving there with AMOS. Since she could not return for the luncheon, she wanted to share a bit about her work and thank FHC for our support through this video.

Justice Ministry thanks you for the opportunity to bring so many great organizations together and lift up their work and looks forward to hearing from you!
