About The Event
Cooking for NEOCH and Transplant House of Cleveland
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat… I was sick and you looked after me…. “
Don your apron, bring your carrot peeler, can opener, and favorite chopping tool, and join other FHC cooks in the kitchen after worship until about 1:30 p.m. (or until our prep is completed), and then stay for a light lunch afterwards. No cooking experience necessary!
We will gather to make scrumptious batches of chili and soup to share with others in our community who may not have enough to eat or are going through a challenging time in their lives.
NEOCH (Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless) is providing about 40 daily meals at a seasonal shelter in Cleveland during the winter months and assistance with food is needed.
Guests at Transplant House of Cleveland often arrive from out of town after a long day of travel and are lifted in body and spirit when given a container of soup to enjoy upon their arrival or a bowl of comfort food after a long day spent at the hospital.
Volunteers are needed to cook, but if you aren’t able to come that day, you can still participate! Donations to help purchase the ingredients for chili and soup will also be appreciated.
