Step into the vibrant world of 18th-century Vienna through the music of a contemporary of Haydn and Mozart, Marianne Martinez, a celebrated composer, keyboardist, and salonnière. At the center of this program is a modern premiere of the newly discovered “Keyboard Concerto in E major” and the vivid “La Tempesta,” works that reflect her command of both elegance and drama.
Also featured are works by Mozart and CPE Bach, music that captures the intimate musical culture that flourished in Martinez’ salon—where Haydn, Metastasio, and even Mozart were regular guests.
