About The Event

Join us in celebrating Natasha Lovelace, former Cleveland Heights resident and the first recipient of Forest Hill Church’s Racial Educational Debt Repair Award.

This award is the work of the Racial Repair & Restoration (RR&R) Task Force, launched in 2022 to address the deep and lasting impact of systemic racism—specifically the disproportionate burden of student loan debt on Black communities.

After a thoughtful review process involving over 20 candidates, Natasha was selected as a Black female college graduate carrying the weight of educational debt.

WHY IT MATTERS

  • Black graduates carry more student debt on average than any other group.
  • This debt limits wealth-building opportunities like buying a home, saving for retirement, or starting a family.
  • Black women are especially impacted—earning degrees without closing the income gap.
  • This crisis threatens the financial future of millions, as the ACLU and Brookings Institution have reported.

OUR RESPONSE: Put FAITH into action!

“[The President’s] baseless attacks on DEI are attacks on the promise of America, the promise that everyone should be able to build the life of their dreams without barriers standing in their way.”
—Andrea Abrams, Executive Director, Defending American Values Coalition

Join us to celebrate this step toward racial and economic justice.
