About The Event
Hosted by the Earth Stewardship Action Network, and funded by a grant from the Outreach Committee of the Presbytery of the Western Reserve
You are invited to register and participate in a Presbytery of the Western Reserve Climate Science Workshop, led by an experienced instructor, for ages 14 and older. This event will be held at Fairmount Presbyterian Church. Refreshments and snacks will be served.
In the first part of the workshop, we will work in small groups with decks of cards, to connect the causes and consequences of climate change. Our instructor will help guide us through this process.
In the second part of the workshop, our instructor will lead us through a discussion of the impacts of what we have just learned and realized, including the Matthew 25 aspects: caring for the most vulnerable among us, including the poor, people of color, the elderly, the disabled, our children and youth, and future generations.
In the third part of the workshop, our instructor will help us brainstorm the actions we can take to mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change on personal, congregational, local, national, and world levels.
