SUMMARY:Blessing of the Meg Cameron Library
DESCRIPTION:The Meg Cameron Library Renovations are Completed!\nLet us give thanks with a special “blessing” of this wonderful space. Come gather together in the library following the church service on Sunday\, October 20th. \nOur church library is named for the beloved daughter of Dr. Donald B. and Ann O. Cameron. Sadly\, Meg lost her life tragically as a child. We are most grateful for the fund established in her name that continues to refresh and keep the library updated with new materials and modern technology. \nThis recent makeover has included new window blinds\, comfortable chairs\, side tables\, reading lamps\, stackable chairs\, conference table\, computer desk\, office chair and lamp\, computer and printer\, electrical updates\, video screen hanging\, furniture and carpet cleaning\, bookends and a printed booklet explaining the many resources available. \nMost impressive is the museum framing of the quilt Meg’s mother created honoring her 12 children\, each with their own special square. \nThe Meg Cameron Library has much to offer. Come check it out!

SUMMARY:Screening of "Origin" Film
DESCRIPTION:You’re invited! \nPlease join the Black History Education Committee on Sunday\, October 20\, 2024\, for a screening of Ava Duvernay’s Origin\, a film based on journalist Isabel Wilkerson’s non-fiction book\, Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents. \nOrigin follows Wilkerson’s (played by Aunjanue Ellis) personal journey of loss and recovery as she writes Caste\, seamlessly weaving together personal and macrocultural impact of caste\, using stories involving slavery\, Nazis\, even Trayvon Martin to illustrate its points. \nDespite its serious subject matter\, we still feel this is a family-friendly movie that will give everyone something to think and talk about. \nPopcorn and Kool-Aid will be available at no additional cost (donations welcome). We’ll see you at the movies!
