SUMMARY:Racial Equity Book Club
DESCRIPTION:The Politics of Jesus: Rediscovering the True Revolutionary Nature of What Jesus Believed and How It Was Corrupted\nby Obrey M. Hendricks\, Jr.\nHendricks argues that Jesus was a political revolutionary whose teachings and actions were aimed at alleviating the suffering of his people at the hands of Roman occupiers. He doesn’t simply portray Jesus in general political terms; he contends that Jesus was an adept political activist who utilized specific tactics and techniques that we can emulate today. \nAll book discussions are via Zoom on Saturday mornings \nPersons interested in reading and discussing books that further individual and collective knowledge about racial equity issues are invited to join the discussions. For more information\, or the Zoom links\, email racialequitybuddies@fhcpresb.org. \nThe First Congregational Church of Hudson (UCC) and the Ministry of Adult Spiritual Growth of Forest Hill Church\, Presbyterian are sponsors of the equity book club and racial equity buddies program.
