Americans Making Immigrants Safe (AMIS)
Because of the generous donors to AMIS, Inc., AMIS has been able to provide nearly $300,000 of hope, support, and a sense of community to families of Northeast Ohio with roots in over 26 countries including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Jordan, Afghanistan, Guatemala, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and many more.
On September 22, Americans Making Immigrants Safe (AMIS) is holding its annual fund-raiser called “Cultural Connections 3.0” at 6pm at Negative Space Gallery, in Cleveland’s vibrant Asia Town neighborhood (3820 Superior Ave E, Fl Second, Cleveland, OH, 216-470-6092. This will be the first in-person Cultural Connections event since 2019, after previously transitioning to a virtual format during the pandemic.
Cultural Connections 3.0 provides an opportunity for guests to engage with and honor the diverse cultures of the immigrant community members that AMIS serves. Through guest speakers and a global appetizer buffet, the event promotes cultural exchange and understanding. Proceeds from Cultural Connections 3.0 directly support AMIS’ work providing flexible, responsive assistance to Northeast Ohio immigrants and asylum seekers. Donations help cover legal fees, housing, medical care, transportation, and other basic needs.
Tickets for the event are $100 each, or consider being a sponsor starting at the $1,000 level. Of course, donations to AMIS are always welcomed as well.
