The good news is that the Sunday morning adult education classes are available on the web. Now how do I listen to them?

You have several choices. The first it to use Apple’s iTunes. iTunes works on both the Mac and PC, it’s free, and does not require the use of an iPod. At the moment, none of the FHC podcasts are available through the iTunes store, so you need to subscribe manually. To do this, open iTunes, click on “Advanced” then “Subscribe to Podcast...” In the box labelled “URL” type “http://fhcpresb.org/AdultEdPodCast.aspx”. At this point the most recent class will begin to download. When it’s finished, you can double-click on the individual classes and listen to it.

If you want to listen to previous classes, there is a button labelled “GET” beside each of the class. Click this to begin downloading these classes.

Now that the hard work is out of the way, every time you open iTunes, it will check for new adult education classes and download any new ones. If you have an iPod, you can download these to your iPod. (Check the “Podcast” tab when you are syncing your iPod.)

As an alternative to this, the classes are listed individually on the Adult Ed page. Click on any of the links to the classes and it will begin playing on your computer. The downside of this is that you need to manually check the Adult Ed page to see if there are new classes.

If the term “Podcasting” is unfamiliar, this article on Wikipedia should give a good introduction
